Family Ice Fishing kicks off Family Programming with SOLE!

This past Saturday was the debut of SOLE’s outdoor family programming! Families were invited to a free Introduction to Ice Fishing as the inaugural event, an excellent way to get outside for some winter entertainment. While the weather down in the Denver was chilly and a little dreary, the brave people who ventured out to Pine Valley Ranch Park were delighted to find higher temperatures and sunny skies. It was an absolutely beautiful day to discover how to catch fish on a frozen lake.

Jefferson County Open Space also provided some great learning opportunities in the warming hut if anyone got too cold. Snacks and coffee were also provided to make sure everyone could relax and have a good time. Even though the turnout was small and cozy, everyone left the day delighted that they had come and eager for more events in the future.

We at SOLE are excited to introduce these new programs to our SOLE families that help everyone get out and enjoy the outdoors. We could not offer this without the support of our Angler Education staff, volunteers, and Jefferson County Open Space. Thank you!

Keep an eye out for more event announcements in the future, and opt outside!
