A Flashback to Family Nature Night at Sopris Elementary
On April 23rd, 2018 Sopris Elementary was celebrating a variety of artwork, fundraising and the book fair. To add to this fun filled night, we also incorporated our SOLE Family Nature Night!
Families tried out a variety of outdoor themed activities, from casting to archery.
Students and families walked away with amazing outdoor prizes from the raffle and one lucky family won an annual state parks pass!
Families enjoyed exploring beavers with Roaring Fork Conservancy, the lifecycle of fish with Glenwood Springs Fish Hatchery, raptors with ACES and a variety of wildlife with Sylvan Lake State Park.
At Great Outdoors Colorado’s Generation Wild area, students had fun seeing how their jumping skills measured up to Colorado Wildlife. They are now able to cross off #70’s "See who can jump the farthest" from the 100 things to do before you’re 12 list.
Huge thank you to our partners, the staff at Academy ACL and our Regional Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff for making this event such a success. We are looking forward to coming back next year!
