Record Number of Attendees at Vista Peak's Family Nature Night
What a night! On September 11th, Vista Peak Exploratory was jam-packed with students from the moment we opened the doors at 5pm. We estimated about 149 students and 83 adults (232 total) attended. So many families attended, we were completely out of pizza by 5:30! Note to SOLE: bring more pizza!
Families were able to enjoy activities provided by our partners. Bird Conservancy of the Rockies facilitated a bird-watching activity, while History Colorado quizzed students on fun facts about our state. Morrison Nature Center provided incredible biofacts on several species in Colorado! A&H Adventures generously facilitated the archery activity in the gymnasium, where we also facilitated the "Backyard Bass" activity.
At 6pm, families gathered into the cafeteria for the raffle. For this raffle, we gave out the normal prizes of fishing poles, a tent, a sleeping bag, binoculars, etc., but we also had 2 extra grand prizes: passes to the History Colorado Center!
Congratulations to all the families who left Family Nature Night with some outdoor goodies!
Thank you to the teachers for their help, and in particular Dr. Morales for working the welcome table and advertising this event so well to the students even with a pizza party to the class with the highest attendance! Thanks to ALL the families who came out to enjoy this event! Thanks to our partners who provided fun activities! Cheers to another great Family Nature Night in the books.
