Milliken Family Nature Night
Gloomy weather wasn't going to stop Milliken Elementary's 3-5th graders from having an awesome night of outdoor family fun! Students left with a sense of accomplishment while building confidence in their archery, fishing, and wildlife identification skills. We estimated a total of 80 students and 46 adults (126 total) attended. Thank you Milliken for the great turnout this year!
The SOLE Team was aided by partners from the Bird Conservancy and Barr Lake State Park! Michelle Seubert, Park Manager at Barr Lake, taught kids the importance of protecting our water resources, leaving them with their very own decorated shirt to take home. Bird Conservancy brought their bird-watching activity for kids to enjoy. Wildlife trivia, the animal tracking matching game and jumping game were guided by Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff.
Everyone's favorite part of the night starts at 6pm when we begin our raffle. Some families went home with fun outdoor-related gifts, and one lucky family took home the grand prize of a gift certificate from Colorado Parks and Wildlife worth $70, good for a State Parks Pass that will last for up to a year!
Family Nature Nights are a way for the SOLE Team to connect to the students we serve along with their families. Our goal is to inspire families to enjoy the outdoors any way they can! Thank you to everyone who made this Family Nature Night a success, and to everyone who believes in our mission. We couldn't do what we do without YOU!
