Queen Palmer Family Nature Night

Thanks to all that came out to Queen Palmer's Family Nature Night last Thursday! We estimated about 37 kids and 29 adults (66 total) attended the event.

Fourth graders went above and beyond what is expected at this particular Family Nature Night. Teachers asked their students to research an endangered species and their projects were displayed in the gymnasium. What a great way for students to participate in their own Family Nature Night and educate the public!

Backyard Bass was set up outside and run by 2 of our amazing volunteers, Bill and Pat. Even though the sun started setting early, we had kiddos fishing until the playground lights came on!

Trivia and Generation Wild activities were also run by volunteers. Trivia was run by Rose while Fran lead the Generation Wild activities. We always appreciate the help of our volunteers!

Southeast Regional staff Tracy and Nikki attended as well, guiding archery in the gym. Tracy is the Education Director for the Southeast region, and she works closely with the schools in the Colorado Springs area. She has a great relationship with the teachers and staff at Queen Palmer and we love watching her interact with her community! Thank you Nikki and Tracy for being part of this Family Nature Night!

We also had some amazing partners attend. The Catamount Institute set up a table outside near Backyard Bass. Mueller State Park attended with some fun biofacts and activities. We really appreciate your contribution to our Family Nature Nights!

The highly-anticipated raffle took place in the gymnasium. We announced winners while families munched on pizza! Congratulations to all our raffle winners!

The SOLE Team would like to especially thank the staff at Queen Palmer for allowing us to organize this event at their school. Fourth grade teacher Richelle Gittens was especially helpful from helping us set up to assisting break down. She is passionate about her work and we appreciate all her efforts!

We can't wait to come back to Queen Palmer next year!
