After much anticipation, Lake County Intermediate was the host of Colorado Parks and Wildlife's Family Nature Night. Students and Families were eager to experience all the activities and games that were held in the gymnasium.

Chalk Cliffs Fish Rearing Unit brought a truck full of rainbow trout for the students to view. Although they were a little hard to see, it was a great opportunity for families to experience first hand the work that CPW does for the community.

After viewing the fish, kids could perfect their casting skills at backyard bass. There were many successful anglers at this event!

The US Forest Service provided a pine cone decorating activity that brought out the student's creative side. Get Outdoors Leadville also provided fun activities for the students to think about all of the fun things they do outdoors.

Throughout the event students were hopping between the provided activities including Wildlife Trivia, Generation Wild jumping game and tracks. Families enjoyed their pizza dinner while the outdoor prize raffle was going on. Students were excited to claim their prizes once their tickets were called out.

Among the many activities offered, archery was one of the most popular. Students who tried archery were given the essential steps of proper archery form. We might have future archers in this group!

Special thanks to Lake County Staff and Volunteers for helping put this event together. SOLE is excited to bring the fun back again next year!
