"Bobber don't lie"
On Saturday December 22nd, SOLE hosted its second annual ice fishing event for SOLE families. After only a short one hour drive from Denver, the families arrived at Staunton State Park eager to learn. A a brief snowfall in the morning set the stage for a beautiful afternoon of ice fishing.
All participants stayed busy catching fish throughout the three hour workshop, only pausing to warm up with some hot chocolate.
“Bobber don’t lie.” --Howard Horton
As with all angling, there is a bit of a waiting game. Our participants were ready to make a move as soon as the bobber gave the signal!
Special thanks to Staunton State Park for allowing SOLE to host this event at their location and to Howard Horton, Colorado Parks and Wildlife's Angler Education Coordinator, for leading the workshop.
Stay tuned for more SOLE Family Events and we hope to see you and your family at our next workshop!
SOLE is funded by Great Outdoors Colorado, a lottery program.
