2019 SOLE Teacher Workshop

Last week, the SOLE team hosted eight of our amazing educators at Staunton State Park for our 2019 Teacher Workshop. The weather was perfect and the backdrop could not have been more picturesque!

We started off the day with an educational hike led by Staunton's interpreter, Annie Thran. Annie did an incredible job giving us an overview of Staunton's unique flora and fauna. The hike ended at Davis Ponds, where we spent the afternoon blissfully fishing for rainbow trout. We followed up fishing with content blocks focused around climate change and taking students outdoors. It was such a treat to get to collaborate with our teachers and equip them with some new ideas for next school-year!

We would be remiss if we didn't profusely thank the staff at Staunton State Park, without whom this event would not have been possible. They did an immense amount of work, both behind the scenes and the day of, to ensure that everything went smoothly. Thanks again, Staunton!
