Is your Sense of Touch up to the Challenge?
Last week the SOLE team traveled out through the snow to Crawford Elementary in Aurora for their yearly Family Nature Night. We had tons of amazing partners participating during the event, but there was one unique partner who brought something different.
The City of Aurora Parks, Recreation and Open Space had a fun touch and feel box setup for the kiddos and families to test their sense of touch and knowledge of local wildlife. One of the Aurora PROS volunteers had recently created a touch and feel box with 6 different hidden wildlife related items. Families then had the opportunity to guess what they were feeling!
Would you be up for the challenge? Luckily none of the boxes contained live animals, but the Aurora PROS team did bring along a bald eagle skull, orioles nest, eggs, dried bird feet and more! Everyone had a blast testing out their sense of touch.
Thanks for all of the Crawford teachers, support staff, SOLE volunteers and partners for making this event happen. Congratulations to the raffle winners this year, we can't wait for Crawford's 2020/2021 Family Nature Night!
